Hiring: Embedded Software Engineer (Android / Linux)
Location: Shenzhen
Responsibilities
1. Port, trim and customise Android or Linux on industrial tablets and handheld terminals, including boot flow, permission policies and system settings adaptation.
2. Develop and debug peripheral drivers for display and touch, camera, barcode scanning, fingerprint, NFC, serial ports and expansion interfaces.
3. Build and maintain external SDKs, middleware and system services, providing stable interfaces for customer applications.
4. Work with hardware engineers to diagnose hardware-software interaction issues and support unit-level functional and stability validation.
5. Contribute to system performance and stability optimisation, addressing field issues such as long-run degradation, unexpected restarts and interface anomalies.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, electronics, automation or a related field.
2. Familiar with C / C++, with knowledge of Java or Kotlin and a basic understanding of the Android system architecture and driver model.
3. Familiar with Linux kernel fundamentals, device trees, the boot process and common debugging techniques.
4. Experience with Rockchip, MediaTek or Qualcomm platforms is an advantage, as is experience with scanning, fingerprint or document reading modules.
5. Able to analyse hardware-software interaction issues and to read schematics and component datasheets.
6. Good coding habits and a disciplined approach to documentation.
