New Employee Orientation: From Product Knowledge to Quality Mindset
The company ran a structured orientation programme for colleagues who recently joined, helping them build a coherent understanding of its products and processes.
The training consisted of five modules. The first covered the company profile and culture, including its focus on industrial smart terminals and its principle of building on technology and quality. The second walked through the product line: 8-inch, 10-inch and 10.1-inch industrial tablets, the 5-inch handheld smart terminal, and the document camera, signature pad and dual-screen identity verification terminal, explaining how the target application scenarios differ.
The third module described the R&D and manufacturing process, from mainboard design and structural tooling to system integration and volume manufacturing, clarifying the inputs, outputs and dependencies of each stage. The fourth focused on the quality system, including incoming inspection, in-process control, finished-product testing and reliability validation, as well as how quality issues are identified, recorded and closed. The fifth covered customer service standards, explaining the technical support response flow and the key points when communicating about issues found on customer sites.
After the sessions, new colleagues visited the R&D and production areas with their mentors to see the equipment and test processes first-hand. The company noted that orientation is not only about conveying information: it wants new colleagues to understand from day one that the quality of an industrial terminal comes from every step in design, process and inspection, and that relaxing any one of them will surface at the customer site.
Role-specific technical training and periodic assessments will follow, so that new colleagues can move into live projects as quickly as possible.
